Yes. You can retake a failed section, but must wait until the next testing window and pay the fee again.
There’s no limit on how many times you can retake a section, but you must pass all four within the rolling window.
The CPA Evolution is a new licensure model launched in 2024. It includes a core + discipline structure, requiring all candidates to take 3 core sections (AUD, FAR, REG) and choose one discipline (BAR, ISC, or TCP). This reflects the changing skills needed in today’s accounting profession.
This varies by candidate, but historically FAR (Financial Accounting and Reporting) has the lowest pass rate and is considered the most challenging due to its volume of technical material.
